Jamestown Community Theatre is excited to announce that auditions for Nunsense will be held on Sunday, April 27 starting at 2pm! Auditions are open to actors grade 9 and older to fill 5 female roles. Nunsense will be directed by Katherine Boisclair. Performances will be held July 16-19.
Nunsense is a hilarious musical written by Dan Goggin about the Little Sisters of Hoboken who are putting on a fundraiser to pay for funeral expenses after their entire convent succumbs to food poisoning. This small all women cast is a fun show sure to delight! Those interested in auditioning should prepare one minute of a contemporary theatre song. Auditions will be held at the Jamestown Senior Center, 6 West Street. Callbacks will be held immediately following the initial auditions, those asked to stay for callbacks will be given readings and snippets of songs from the show. When signing up, please indicate whether you are a teen or an adult, and, if applicable, any roles that you are interested in. Unlike many JCT productions, this show will feature a small cast and not everyone who auditions will be cast. Rehearsals will be held Sundays from 1-5pm and Tuesdays from 6-9pm, with additional rehearsals added as production gets closer to open. Rehearsals will primarily be held at the Jamestown Recreation Center. JCT is also looking for individuals who are interested in learning about or taking lead on various other behind the scenes production positions, to learn more send us an email! The Nunsense Production Team Cast of Characters: SISTER MARY REGINA, MOTHER SUPERIOR: Female, Middle Aged A feisty and sassy nun who can't resist the spotlight. SISTER MARY HUBERT, MISTRESS OF NOVICES: Female, Middle Aged The second in command, in constant competition with the Mother Superior. SISTER ROBERT ANNE: Female, Thirtysomething A street smart character from Brooklyn. A source of aggravation for the Mother Superior. SISTER MARY AMNESIA: Female, Thirtysomething A sweet nun who lost her memory after a crucifix fell on her head. SISTER MARY LEO: Female, Young Adult The novice, who entered the convent with a desire to be the first nun ballerina. |
